Brian Ward, who stepped down as CEO of Savvy Games Group earlier this month, has been asked to remain as an advisor to the Saudi gaming entity. In a LinkedIn post, Ward said the company had reached a milestone after five years of operation.

"I am pleased to have been asked to remain as an advisor to Savvy," Ward wrote. "I am excited to continue to support the company's mandate and the national strategy for our sector."

Ward described Savvy as no longer a startup and entering "a new period of transformational growth." It remains unclear whether he has accepted the advisory position. PocketGamer.biz reported that Savvy had not confirmed his acceptance at the time of publication.

Ward founded Savvy Games Group in 2021 and led the company through significant expansion, including the $4.9 billion acquisition of Scopely in 2023. His tenure also covered investments in esports and initiatives focused on talent development and game development within Saudi Arabia. Ward thanked partners, colleagues and friends for what he called an "extraordinary journey" at the company.
