PocketGamer is opening nominations for Aurora Nordics 2026, an awards program recognising industry-leading women working across the Nordic games region.
The Aurora awards will celebrate women whose work in game development, creative direction, sound design, writing, programming, production and entrepreneurship has shaped the Nordic games industry. The program is supported by Women in Games and will be presented at PG Connects Nordics 2026.
Nominations are open to anyone identifying as a woman or non-binary individuals comfortable being identified as part of a women's group. Nominees must work in the Nordic region but can represent any segment of the games industry.
PocketGamer states the Nordic games industry is "bursting with talent, creativity, and innovation" and that women at its core "inspire, challenge, and push the medium forward." The awards aim to showcase these contributions to an audience of developers, publishers, investors, journalists and industry professionals.
Those nominating candidates are encouraged to highlight how their nominees have crafted immersive worlds, built inclusive communities, led groundbreaking projects or inspired others in the industry. Submissions are now open.
