Adobe has completed its acquisition of Topaz Labs, an AI company known for video and image enhancement tools used by filmmakers, photographers, and designers. The deal was announced in June and has now closed following regulatory approval.
Topaz Labs' technology will integrate into Adobe's creative suite, beginning with Adobe Firefly and Photoshop. The company's proprietary Neurostream technology allows users to process complex AI models either on their own devices or through Adobe's cloud infrastructure.
Topaz Labs' most widely used tools include Astra for video upscaling and Wonder for image editing. The company earned an Emmy Award for video technology in 2025. Through the acquisition, Adobe plans to expand the feature set with tools for restoring archival footage, improving low-light shots, enhancing mobile videos, preparing content for large-screen viewing, and using creative upscaling to improve AI-generated video quality.
Topaz Labs will remain a standalone brand, with its apps and models continuing as separate products while integrating into Adobe's tools and workflows.
